Cosmic Hosts: The Invisible Art of Industrial Design

March 7th, 1:30pm
Invisible Art Eventbrite

Stop by the Cosmic studio from 5-9pm on Friday, February 3rd for an evening digging into the art and science of industrial design with IDE, the multi-award-winning Scotts Valley design and engineering firm.

The Eats & Drinks

Enjoy four varieties of beer from East Cliff Brewing Co. , poured directly out of wooden casks, plus great eats from Mediterranean Grill & Go.

The Sights

Everything you buy and use on a daily basis was intentionally designed by someone. Come into our studio to meet some of the people behind these incredible products and check out the history of one of Silicon Valley’s unsung pioneers.

Have a gander at a wide variety of projects including:

  • Live 3D printer demonstrations throughout the night. What will they be printing? You’ll have to be there to find out.
  • The Kestrel Airfoil bike frame - a thing of high-speed beauty
  • Modarri toy cars - when Matchbox just isn’t enough
  • Fluidigm C1 Single Cell AutoPrep System - a revolutionary new instrument in DNA sequencing
  • Cellular Research Pixel System - a compact instrument for a Silicon Valley biotech startup that identifies and counts individual molecules, genes, chromosomes, and other genetic materials in very small samples

Join us on Friday, February 3rd at the Cosmic Studio (115 Cooper Street—corner of Cooper & Front Streets) from 5-9pm. Please confirm via Eventbrite so that we can be sure to have enough food and drink on hand.
